# CLP

On CROSS Prediction, supported markets go live with a working orderbook — quotes on both sides from the moment a market opens, no waiting for a counterparty. That liquidity is provided by the CROSS Liquidity Provider Vault (CLP), a protocol-managed market maker that populates eligible markets with live quotes.

As a market trades, CLP's quotes adjust automatically, and user orders layer on top. CLP is purpose-built for prediction markets. Unlike inventory-based market makers that manage price exposure, it manages settlement risk — the all-or-nothing payout structure specific to event-resolved markets. Each market CLP supports is backed by a dedicated capital allocation with a defined worst-case payout obligation, so vault exposure stays capped regardless of how the book trades.

CLP is currently live on a subset of CROSS Prediction markets and in active beta. Coverage will grow over time as more markets become eligible. A way for community participants to deposit into CLP and share in its returns is in development and will be announced when it's ready.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.prediction.crossdefi.io/market-structure/clp.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
